Cited for her honeyed vocals and soulful melodies, New York native Gianna Alessi began crafting songs during her time spent at Boston Conservatory at Berklee School of Music. But, the journey really began when the singer songwriter's grandmother — a former soprano at the Metropolitan Opera — gave nine year-old Gianna her first ever voice lesson.
She has packed local NYC venues like Bowery Electric, Rockwood Music Hall, The Bitter End, Arlene’s Grocery and Groove in Manhattan's West Village, where she held an ongoing artist residency. In addition, Gianna has toured, playing showcases and concert series across the US.
Drawing influence from funk, jazz and soul, she fuses retro elements with modern production. Featured on an array of music blogs and radio stations, she has gained a following as an artist, songwriter and vocalist.
